Improve Female Talent advancement:
SPONSORING Program for senior female leaders

A sponsoring project of the top talented females is an effective way to ensure female talent advancement to senior levels in the short term.
It is also of help in the creation of awareness and comprehension on gender differences by (male) top managers sponsors and female tandem partners (participants to the program). As a result there is more buy in/advocacy/ awareness of own behavior resulting in more engagement and inclusive behavior of top management and  better understanding of career opportunities/strategy of the tandem partner.

 

Our roadmap towards a balanced and inclusive organization consists of the following building blocks:

Approach/program

1. Online pre survey

For tandem partners, the online pre survey detects their personal perception on performance on identified competences, attitudes and behaviors / actions undertaken to advance one’s career (these are part of the KPI’s set for the follow up of the program).
This pre survey will be used as the base case to measure effectiveness of the program in terms of personal development, knowledge, career management, … for the tandem partners.

 

2. Online post survey

For tandem partners, the online post survey detects their personal perception on performance on identified competences, attitudes and behaviors / actions undertaken to advance one’s career (these are part of the KPI’s set for the follow up of the program).
This post survey will be used to measure progress of participants to the program in terms of personal development, knowledge, career management … for the tandem partners.

 

3. Online individual follow up

Online module with personal login for the tandem partners that allows them to keep track of the content they receive during the workshops / different modules of the program, of the advancement they make, and lets them stay in touch with the other participants / exchange experiences.
Coaches in the program have access to the online tool and can stay in touch with the participants/answer questions/make comments.
Participants are notified by e-mail of upcoming modules, of comments from their coach.
This tool ensures that the sponsoring program is continuously supported, updated, and actively used by the tandem partners.

4. Workshops (1/2 day) for tandem partners

Workshops have been identified as having the most impact on the advancement of female careers.

  • Communicate with Impact “Be visible, be confident, create impact”
  • Total Life Balance “Being a leader will require new ways to integrate work with the rest of one’s life, resulting in more effective leadership and a more fulfilling life” (R.Reich, Professor University of California Berkeley)
  • Playing the political game “Can you play it to change it?”

 

5. Intervision meeting for sponsors

Exchange experiences: what does it take to be a good sponsor, how to expose the tandem partner to your network and introduce them to challenges, what does it take to be a good coach...

 

6. Individual coaching

Three individual coaching sessions are part of the sponsoring program allowing the tandem partner to personalize her development plan. It allows also the coach to give individual feedback on important topics/behaviours as identified by the coach and the participant during the plenary sessions. The participants decide on their development points during the sponsorship and are challenged and supported by our coach to work on these. This allows us to extend the benefits of the sponsoring and to ensure every woman in the program can focus on her individual development needs.
The content of these coaching sessions is strictly confidential. In case further coaching sessions would be of help extra sessions can be scheduled after upfront approval.
